2024 Ford Mustang: a cause for celebration

2024 Ford Mustang: a cause for celebration

Sometimes it seems as if everything has been said about the Ford Mustang. That's true, but when you're passionate about a model, there's always something new to tell. This car provides so much pleasure for its owners that we never tire of talking about it after all.

And for 2024, this is even truer, as Ford presents a new generation. It's the seventh since 1964, although in reality it feels like dozens of generations, so many different and unique models have been presented to us over the decades.

And the story continues for 2024. The Mustang is redesigned, but not denatured. Let's take a look at the essential changes.

Improved Powertrains

First of all, the car will still be available in coupe or convertible configuration, and will once again offer two powertrains. First, a 2.3-liter, four-cylinder EcoBoost engine delivering 315 hp. Then there's the legendary GT version with a 5.0-liter V8 engine, this time capable of spitting out 480 hp, enough to interest all car enthusiasts. Manual and automatic gearboxes will continue to be offered. The former has six gears, the latter ten.

New Design

As for the 2024 Ford Mustang’ styling, even if it's recognizable as a whole, there's a lot to get your teeth into, starting with that front grille and snout, which displays more character than ever.

Gone are the folds and the two extractors on the hood. The new GT version features a trapezoidal outlet in the center. This opening is absent on the EcoBoost version.

The headlamps on the departing Mustang featured a circular signature on each end, recalling the look of the original models. The new version features three small LED lamps on each side. What's more, the turn signals are no longer separated from the rest of the lighting. This change makes the vehicle look less retro and more modern.

At the rear, the changes are the most subtle. The three light bars have been retained, but the section between them is now body-colored rather than black.

Inside, there's no mistaking the generations, as the new Mustang features a completely redesigned cabin. The rethought design includes an optional 13.2-inch screen, part of a large curved display that extends across the center of the dashboard. The system also replaces the traditional air-conditioning and radio control buttons with touch-screen "buttons".

Recaro seats are available as an option.

As for the model's handling, we'll have to wait until we get behind the wheel to describe the experience. However, we are delighted that Ford is offering the "Performance" package for both four- and eight-cylinder models. The package adds front strut support, a Torsen limited-slip differential, wider wheels and tires, larger Brembo brakes and MagneRide suspension.

What's more, a new Dark Horse version has been added to the menu, ready to take to the track. Its V8 engine delivers 500 horsepower, and it benefits from mechanical adjustments for an even more intense driving experience.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you'd like more information about the new Mustang. What's certain is that it will continue to deliver pleasure by the ton; its legend continues.
