Ford has introduced an exciting addition to its popular Maverick lineup - the 2025 Maverick Lobo. This new street-performance variant pays homage to the lowered truck era of the 1980s and early 2000s while catering to today's customization-loving Maverick fans.
A New Canvas for Street Truck Enthusiasts
The Maverick Lobo joins the existing Maverick family, which includes the off-road capable Tremor and the efficient Hybrid models. This latest offering brings a street-performance focus to the lineup, providing customers with a fresh platform for personalization. The concept for the Lobo originated from Maverick designer Josh Blundo's vision, which inspired a special build by Tucci Hot Rods that garnered attention at the 2021 SEMA show. This positive reception led to the development of the production Lobo model.
Engineered for On-Road Excellence
The Maverick Lobo boasts impressive performance upgrades that set it apart from its siblings. It features a lowered ride height—1.27 cm lower in the front and 3 cm lower in the rear—along with tuned suspension and steering for car-like handling. Under the hood, it houses a 2-liter EcoBoost engine that is Built Ford Tough certified, complemented by an enhanced braking system with dual-piston front calipers from the European Focus ST.
The truck also introduces a new "Lobo" drive mode for improved cornering performance and benefits from an upgraded cooling system with a larger radiator and transmission oil cooler. These enhancements create a truck that delivers an engaging driving experience while maintaining the practicality expected from a Maverick.
Street-Inspired Design Elements
The Lobo's exterior features distinctive styling cues that reflect its performance-oriented nature, including a unique front fascia, painted rear bumper and rocker moldings, a black-painted roof, and 19-inch black wheels. Inside, the Lobo's interior draws inspiration from street art and contemporary streetwear trends.
It showcases Grabber Blue and Electric Lime accent stitching, graffiti-inspired seat overprint, and "Lobo" embossing on black driver and passenger seats. To simplify customization, Ford offers the Maverick Lobo in two configurations: standard and high.
Advanced Technology for Modern Drivers
The Maverick Lobo comes equipped with purposeful technology to enhance the driving experience. The standard configuration includes core performance features, while the high configuration adds a heated steering wheel and seats, Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 driver-assist technologies, a 360-degree camera, a spray-in bedliner, a moonroof, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which will be available in early 2025. These advanced features, particularly the trailer assistance systems, make the Lobo both a capable performer and a practical daily driver.
Availability and Ordering Information
Customers eager to get behind the wheel of the 2025 Maverick Lobo can mark their calendars, with ordering beginning on August 1, 2024, and deliveries starting in early 2025. High configuration models will be available later in 2025.
The Maverick Lobo represents an exciting evolution of Ford's compact truck lineup, offering performance enthusiasts a factory-built platform that's ready for personalization. With its street-inspired design, enhanced driving dynamics, and practical technology, the Lobo will attract a new generation of truck buyers looking for a unique and engaging vehicle.
